Research Study Design

This is a 12-part course based on the book "Designing Clinical Research" by Hulley and Cummings (4th Edition). It is recommended that you order the book and read the chapters corresponding to the lectures prior to listening to the presentations. The corresponding chapters are listed on the syllabus below. Each lecture is approximately one hour in length. Do note that there is no video recorded lecture for week 12.

Biostatistics

This is a 12 part course that covers basic statistical concepts and procedures for clinical research. The recommended text is Basic & Clinical Biostatistics by Apple & Lange (4th Edition). Each lecture is approximately one hour in length. The statistical software package that is used in lecture examples is SPSS. If you do not have SPSS, please contact the Office of Research Affairs on how to purchase this software for a nominal fee.
