Privacy Office

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), established by the U.S. Federal Government, provides for the protection of patient privacy rights and plays an important role in the daily functions and activities occurring on University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville campus.

The UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville houses the UF Privacy Office, which also serves as the information security administration office for the campus. The UF Privacy Office is responsible for all aspects of the privacy and security of patient information on the University of Florida Health Science Center – Jacksonville campus and the UF satellite clinics in Jacksonville. The Privacy Office provides support to Jacksonville-based UF faculty, residents, fellows, allied health providers, as well as clinical and billing support staff.
