Applications will be accepted via VISITING STUDENT LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES™ (VSLO®) beginning in early April.
Please note we need at least 30 days to process your request.
A visiting student may not displace a University of Florida student from any elective. For this reason, visiting students may not be accepted for an elective until mid-May. Please note that visiting students generally will not be approved for more than one rotation in an academic year at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville.
To participate as a visiting student, you must:
- Be a fourth year student in good standing at a medical school which is accredited by the COCA or LCME and which is a member, or an affiliated member, of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
- Have the permission of your academic dean to take an extramural course outside the institution in which you are enrolled.
- All students must complete all application requirements listed on the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville VSLO Institution Page. The home institution or visiting student must provide proof of professional liability coverage upon application submission.
- Wear proper business attire, white laboratory coats and your home school identification badge if participating in clinical rotations.
