Office of Research Affairs

The UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville Office of Research Affairs is part of the Division of Sponsored Programs located in Gainesville, Florida, and provides the following research-related support at UF Health Jacksonville.

Institute for Population Health (IPH)

The Institute for Population Health, or IPH, was created to provide an integrative physical and intellectual environment in which trainees at all levels and scientists from diverse disciplines can interact and conduct clinical and behavioral translational research on aging and independence of older adults.

Center for Respiratory Health

Across the nation, millions of people are affected by asthma, chronic bronchitis, and other serious respiratory illnesses like COVID-19 and RSV. The Center for Respiratory Health (CRH) unites researchers, clinicians, and patients to advance evidence-based prevention and treatment for these widespread conditions.

Clinical Research Office

The Clinical Research Office supports all components of clinical trials for patients, sponsors and investigators by focusing on executing clinical studies, delivering high-quality, patient centered care and providing study team support.

Institutional Review Board

The Institutional Review Board’s primary mission is to protect the rights and welfare of participants in human research studies (research subjects). The IRB reviews research before it is started and most research while it is being conducted, to assess if the research meets appropriate ethical, federal, state and local requirements/guidelines.

Research and Clinical Trials

The UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville has more than 550 active studies and protocols being conducted by UF faculty in Jacksonville. Clinical trials are research studies that allow advances in medicine, identify new treatments and ensure safe and effective care for patients.
