College of Medicine Excellence in Student Education

Purpose: To recognize annually the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville faculty member identified by UF College of Medicine medical students as the most outstanding teacher.

Sponsor: Dean’s Office

Awards Amount: $500 PEA

Deadline: Based on nominations from UF College of Medicine students rotating in Jacksonville. Announced each spring at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville's annual Celebration of Resident and Fellow Education and Research Day.

Awards Amount: $1,000 PEA

Deadline: Based on student and resident teaching evaluations. Announced each spring during Medical Education Week.

Louis S. Russo Award for Outstanding Professionalism in Medicine

Purpose: To recognize one UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville faculty member who exemplifies the highest standards of medical professionalism, substantiated by a commitment to personal behavior that reflects the core values of the consummate physician: altruism, clinical experience, ethics, and respect for others.

Sponsor: Office of Graduate Medical Education

Awards Amount: $3,000 PEA

Deadline: Nominations accepted between January 15th and March 15th of each year; award presented at graduation, the 2nd Wednesday of June
