University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville

The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville is comprised of three health science center colleges, 16 clinical science departments, 440 faculty and 380 residents and fellows. In 2020, the Office of Research Affairs launched the patient-centered Clinical Research Office, or CRO, to enhance clinical research activity on the UF Health Jacksonville campus.

The CRO provides integrated, patient centered and comprehensive clinical research services for the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville using hybrid models of engagement with patients, faculty and staff. The office enhances clinical research activity by fostering patient accessibility, engagement and satisfaction in clinical research, and partnering with departments and sponsors on each study to rapidly identify and efficiently execute clinical studies.

The Clinical Research Office is a key component of our campus’ enhanced research ecosystem and is well-aligned with our institutional mission to advance discovery and improve the health and wellness of the populations we serve.

The CRO increases the volume and efficiency of sponsored clinical research studies for the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville by:

  • Using patient-engagement platforms to provide convenient resources and tools for a seamless and paperless clinical trial workflow.
  • Offering operating procedures, budgeting and negotiation techniques.
  • Implementing a financial management system for improved monitoring and tracking.
  • Establishing new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with industry and federal sponsors by providing expedient data on our clinical research capabilities, proficient clinical trial operations and high-quality outcomes.
