New! Medical Education Research and Scholarship Intensive Course for University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville and University of Florida College of Medicine – Gainesville faculty designed to teach faculty core knowledge and skills in designing, implementing, publishing and funding medical education scholarship. The course is a mix of synchronous core educational sessions and asynchronous independent study to guide faculty on each step in developing and completing a medical educational research/scholarship protocol. Faculty participants will receive mentorship/coaching from the MedEd Research and Scholarship Special Interest Group (Jacksonville) or MedEd Incubator Scholars (Gainesville) based on the type of research/project being developed. The expectation is for faculty participants to complete a capstone project – a research protocol or project ready for implementation and with the goal for external grant submission.
Dates
August 7th, 2026 – April 9, 2027; In-person sessions once a month on specific Friday’s from 1:00p.m. – 4:30p.m. with half the sessions in Jacksonville and the other half in Gainesville. Travel stipends available.
Accreditation: The University of Florida College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Facilitators will be internal and external national speakers and scholars in medical education research and scholarship.
Letter of Support from Department Chair (or equivalent leadership) to ensure support of faculty time.
