The University of Florida Cardiovascular Center opened this month at Emerson Medical Plaza.
The center offers comprehensive heart care on Jacksonville’s Southside and doctors seeing patients there include Theodore A. Bass, M.D., medical director of the Shands Jacksonville Cardiovascular Center and chief of cardiology at the UF College of Medicine-Jacksonville.
The Emerson location will also be home to the Women’s Cardiovascular Health Program led by Gladys R. Velarde, M.D., an associate professor of medicine
Other providers at the Emerson location are UF cardiologists Martin M. Zenni II, M.D., an associate professor of medicine, and Thomas Wannenburg, M.B.Ch.B. (M.D.), an associate professor of medicine.
Appointments are available every weekday except Thursday. Velarde will accept appointments for women on Mondays.
