Application Process Applications will be accepted via VISITING STUDENT LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES™ (VSLO®) beginning in early April. Please note we need at least 30 days to process your request. A visiting student may not displace a University of Florida student from any elective. For this reason, visiting students may not be accepted for an elective until mid-May. Please note that visiting students generally will not be approved for more than one rotation in an academic year at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. To participate as a visiting student, you must: Be a fourth year student in good standing at a medical school which is accredited by the COCA or LCME and which is a member, or an affiliated member, of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Have the permission of your academic dean to take an extramural course outside the institution in which you are enrolled. All students must complete all application requirements listed on the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville VSLO Institution Page. The home institution or visiting student must provide proof of professional liability coverage upon application submission. Wear proper business attire, white laboratory coats and your home school identification badge if participating in clinical rotations.
