Intensive QIPS Certificate Program Other Education Programs Top Intensive and Longitudinal 2 or 3-year Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) Certificate Program Overall Goal: To provide residents, fellows, faculty and staff a more concentrative Quality Improvement and Patient Safety experience and to earn a project based Yellow Belt certification. To learn of Yellow Belt training dates or to register, access Healthstream. Course Goals by Year: Year 1: Provide a structured environment for trainees to gain a more in-depth understanding of process improvement and patient safety. Participants will complete the Basic QIPS Program during Year 1. Year 2: Provide trainees an opportunity to use proven strategies, tools, and statistical methods to impact an area that requires improvement; submit work to the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville's annual Celebration of Resident and Fellow Education and Research Day. Participants will complete the following in Year 2. Lean Approach to Improvement in Healthcare (4-hour Intro Course) Yellow Belt LEAN – Six Sigma Training, including capstone QI Project Year 3: Provide an opportunity for trainees to complete additional cycles and publish a quality improvement project. Participants will complete additional cycles and data collection in Year 3: Information will be on Canvas to help direct. Deep Dive into Publishing QI Work SQUIRE Abstracts Potential Journals Submitting Guidelines Implement actions to insure long-term project success Policy/procedure changes Ongoing education needs Routine monitoring of outcomes Participants may choose to complete Green Belt in LEAN-Six Sigma.
