Researching Precision Emergency Asthma Treatment (RePEAT): Pharmacogenomics of Bronchodilator Response

Study Description

This study is a first step in a larger research goal to bring precision medicine to emergency care for children with asthma. We will enroll African American patients from the UF Jacksonville Pediatric Emergency Department and collect clinical data including bronchodilator response (BDR). We will test whether 21 single nucleotide polymorphisms identified in previous studies are associated with BDR when it matters most, during an asthma exacerbation.
