Robert P. Booth, M.D., an associate professor and division chief of neuroradiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, was awarded the Florida Distinguished Service Medal for exceptional meritorious service by Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.
The award, which is the highest award the National Guard can give to a civilian, was presented to Booth by the adjutant general of Florida, Maj. Gen. Douglas Burnett, on behalf of the governor during a ceremony in St. Augustine, Fla., on May 22.
Booth was recognized for voluntarily providing medical advice and support for many Florida guardsmen and their families since 2002, as well as for being an outstanding ambassador for the Florida National Guard.
