The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville congratulates all recipients and inductees recognized at the 25th annual UF College of Medicine Celebration of Excellence. The event, sponsored by the Society of Teaching Scholars, recognizes faculty, staff, and resident physicians in Gainesville and Jacksonville for their contributions to graduate medical education.
An objective of the Society of Teaching Scholars is to recognize and reward faculty members who demonstrate excellence in teaching and dedication to the formation of future physicians and scientists. Two UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville faculty members were recognized for embodying these values in their work.
Melissa Parsons-Tucker, MD, an associate professor and program director of the emergency medicine residency program, was inducted into the Society of Teaching Scholars.
Reetu Grewal, MD, FAAFP, an associate professor and clerkship director in the department of community health and family medicine, received the Kenneth Kellner Clerkship Director Award in recognition of her outstanding skill as a medical educator and her role as an inspiring advisor and mentor to medical students and trainees.
In addition, several resident physicians from the College of Medicine – Jacksonville were named as recipients of the Outstanding Resident Educator Award.
