The associate dean for administrative affairs at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville now holds the highest leadership position with the American Academy of Medical Administrators (AAMA).
Eric Conde, MSA, CFAAMA, recently became chair of the organization’s board of directors. He will serve in that capacity for a year.
Founded in 1957, AAMA today has more than 1,000 members who represent health care management at all levels, within all types of health care settings. The organization seeks to advance excellence in health care leadership through individual relationships, multi-disciplinary interaction, practical business tools and active engagement.
Conde has been an AAMA member since 1994. Last year, he served as the organization’s chair-elect. He said his goal as chair is to continue building on strategic-plan objectives that will help advance the field of health care leadership.
“Although there is no doubt that this is an exciting time at AAMA, we – the membership, together – have a lot of work ahead of us,” he said.
Conde came to UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville in 2006 following a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy. He completed his undergraduate work at Southern New Hampshire University and earned a master of science in administration from Central Michigan University, with an emphasis in health services administration.
He is an AAMA fellow and diplomate in health care administration and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Forum for Latino Healthcare Executives.
