Peer Review of Teaching

Faculty Development

The peer review of teaching program was created to assist faculty in receiving feedback regarding their teaching in the spirit of collegiality. Feedback further assists faculty in improving the overall clinical learning environment at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville.

The reviews are conducted by graduates of the University of Florida College of Medicine’s master educator fellowship program, and/or by faculty who have received the College of Medicine exemplary teacher award five times, and/or have been inducted in the University of Florida College of Medicine's Society of Teaching Scholars. Reviewers provide faculty with formative feedback on their teaching skills. All new faculty with at least 20% of time assigned to teaching should undergo a peer review of teaching within the first year. In addition, faculty with at least 20% of time assigned to teaching should be peer reviewed twice prior to their mid-cycle promotion review. Faculty applying for promotion should include peer reviews (ideally two every three years) in their promotional educator portfolio. All faculty have the option of requesting a peer review at any time.

To schedule a peer review, please fill out our peer review request form. If you have any questions, contact Charity Snodgrass at charity.snodgrass@jax.ufl.edu.
