There are two main techniques to deliver OA research articles: Gold OA journals and Green OA archives or repositories. Gold OA refers to peer-reviewed articles immediately available through the publishing site and free of charge to the public. Gold OA can be found at Directory of Open Access Journals. Green OA is also known as self-archiving, or the practice of using a repository to store the author’s content. The content deposited into the repository is subjected to the publisher's policies. A list of publishers and policies on self-archiving may be found at SHERPA/RoMEO database. Read more about Gold and Green status. Buyers Beware!
