Research and Clinical Trials

The UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville has more than 550 active studies and protocols being conducted by UF faculty in Jacksonville. Clinical trials are research studies that allow advances in medicine, identify new treatments and ensure safe and effective care for patients.

Centers and Institutes

Center for Data Solutions

The UF Center for Data Solutions supports investigators in conducting innovative and transformative health science research. The center's hubs of advanced analytics, epidemiology and biostatistics support research projects in all phases, from study design through analysis and dissemination to improve patient outcomes.

Center for Healthcare Evaluation and Engagement Research (CHEER)

The Center for Healthcare Evaluation and Engagement Research is a central hub for research and community engagement activities that focus on improving equity, especially among underserved populations. It provides access to resources and expertise that foster research and education efforts to empower residents, clinicians, organizations and communities.

Clinical and Translational Science Institute

The University of Florida Clinical and Translational Science Institute, or CTSI, was founded in 2008 to speed the translation of scientific discoveries into improved health by strengthening the university’s ability to conduct clinical and translational research.

Institutional Review Board

The Institutional Review Board's primary mission is to protect the rights and welfare of participants in human research studies (research subjects). The IRB reviews research before it is started and most research while it is being conducted, to assess if the research meets appropriate ethical, federal, state and local requirements/guidelines.

Institute for Population Health (IPA)

The Jacksonville Aging Studies Center, or IPA, was created to provide an integrative physical and intellectual environment in which trainees at all levels and scientists from diverse disciplines can interact and conduct clinical and behavioral translational research on aging and independence of older adults.

Office of Research Affairs

The UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville Office of Research Affairs is part of the Division of Sponsored Programs located in Gainesville, Florida, and provides the following research-related support at UF Health Jacksonville.
