UF opens family medicine practice in Macclenny

The University of Florida has opened its first primary care center in Macclenny, Fla. The UF Crossroads Family Medicine Center, located at 802 S. 6th St. in the Crossroads Shopping Center, opened Monday, Aug. 22, 2011.

"We welcome members of the Macclenny community to our growing UF family," said Nipa Shah, MD, associate professor and chair of the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine at the UF College of Medicine-Jacksonville. "It is our privilege to help with your healthcare needs."

Kenneth Obiaja, MD, MPH, a UF assistant professor of Community Health and Family Medicine, will serve as the medical director and provider for the practice. Previously, Obiaja served as chief resident at the University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital. Obiaja is fluent in English, Spanish and French.

Obiaja accepts patients from newborns to seniors. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information about UF Crossroads Family Medicine, call (904) 383-1777. Most insurances are accepted.
