The accolade reflects the valuable hard work of University of Florida personnel.

Two faculty and two staff members at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville are being recognized for their outstanding contributions to the university.

In February, UF announced the division-level recipients of its 2019-2020 Superior Accomplishment Awards. The accolades recognize faculty and staff who have shown efficiency or economy in their work, have contributed outstanding and meritorious service, or who have improved the quality of life provided to students and employees.

All academic personnel, TEAMS employees and USPS staff members — except those at the department chair or director level and above — are eligible to participate. TEAMS is short for Technical, Executive, Administrative and Managerial Support and USPS stands for University Support Personnel System.

College of Medicine – Jacksonville personnel are among those who won in Division 5, which includes all colleges, departments and units in Jacksonville and Gainesville under the senior vice president for health affairs. Following are the winners from Jacksonville, with the award category in parentheses:

Each winner was nominated by supervisors, peers or customers who wrote glowing letters of recommendation on their behalf. The awards reflect work and contributions during the past academic year, Aug. 1, 2018 – July 31, 2019.

The winners will receive cash awards of $200 each, a framed certificate and a commemorative coffee mug and will be considered for university-level awards, which offer $1,000 and $2,000 cash prizes.

“Please join me in congratulating our winners for their truly superior accomplishments during the past academic year,” said Leon L. Haley Jr., MD, MHSA, dean of the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville.

The award recipients will be honored March 27 during a special banquet in Gainesville.
