Implementation of ICD-10

ICD-10 is an updated version of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) system for diagnosis and procedure coding and claims processing. In 2009, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced final regulations that require payers and providers to fully transition to ICD-10 by 2014.
