Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the role Jacksonville plays in caring for refugees to the United States.
2. Develop awareness of the emotional trauma, mental and social health concerns and cross-cultural challenges present for this population.
3. Learn the distinct health phases of the refugee journey.
4. Discuss cultural competency in the practice of cross-cultural medicine.
