Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:

1. Describe how the Covid-19 pandemic has elevated the awareness of the extent to which physicians and clinical staff are struggling with stress, burnout, moral injury and suicidality.
2. Differentiate between burnout, compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and moral injury.
3. Discuss how addressing individual’s factors that affect well-being must be accompanied with strategies to address organizational factors that contribute to emotional exhaustion and depersonalization.
4. List institutional, local and national resources to assist physicians with well-being.
