Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the current medical, social and political burden affecting the African child.
2. Discuss evidence-based strategies and programs that improve child health outcomes.
3. Outline what global support pediatricians and pediatric societies can provide to respond to the plight of the African child.
4. Promote collaboration and partnerships between pediatric societies, governments, NGOs.
5. Discuss strategies to empower African communities and caregivers in child survival.
