Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:
o Discuss the basic principles of ethics as they apply to the practice of medicine with a focus on end of life care
o Summarize principles of ethical decision making
o Understand the legalities of health care surrogate
o Evaluate informed consent
o Review the process of withholding and withdrawing life support and its impact on families
o Physician assisted suicide and Euthanasia
o Define futility of care
