Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:

1. Define portal hypertension and describe the pathophysiology underlying its development.
2. Describe the clinical manifestations of clinically significant portal hypertension and management strategies.
3. Classify esophageal and gastric varices.
4. Discuss the medical and interventional approaches to the management of esophageal and gastric varices.
