At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
1. Review the conditions detected through the newborn screening (NBS).
2. Identify the benefits of early intervention in the patient outcome.
3. Discuss the role of healthcare providers in outpatient and inpatient encounters of abnormal NBS.
4. Identify the resources available to families of babies with NBS.
