Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:

At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
1. Describe the role community pediatric hospitalists play in caring for children in the US.
2. Explain the challenges and successes of developing and growing a pediatric hospitalist program in rural Montana.
3. Discuss how a vision for collaborative care of the hospitalized child in rural Montana, between community hospitalists in Billings, Montana and a team working in a quaternary center in Denver, Colorado, might be a model for other places in the US, to better meet the needs of pediatric patients close to home.
