Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:

1. Describe how HIV/AIDS care has evolved over the past 25 years
2. Describe innovative telehealth models for HIV care and prevention, and strategies to overcome implementation challenges
3. Discuss approaches that assist healthcare professionals to maintain their cultural proficiency, recognize, and eliminate stigma, in order to reduce health disparities:
a. Identify indicators of abuse in people living with HIV and conduct basic screening for domestic violence
b. Describe how discriminatory healthcare practices contribute to LGBT health disparities
c. Explain the role of PrEP in Ending the HIV epidemic and list some of the locally approved activities and strategies that align with Florida Ending the HIV Epidemic Plan for a ‘Unified Approach’

UF CARES presents 25th Annual Infectious Diseases and HIV Conference of Northeast Florida Cultivating HIV Care: 25 Years in the Making.

An online conference for medical professionals and others in the public health workforce.

The event will address how HIV care has evolved over the past 25 years in Jacksonville and surrounding areas and will describe the future direction of research and treatment.

Registration is $10 and can be completed at UFHealthJax.org/HIVcare by Sept. 14.
