UF COMJ faculty shine at 2023 Duval County Medical Society Annual Meeting

Several University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville faculty were recognized for their accomplishments in medicine at the 2023 Duval County Medical Society Annual Meeting.

Rana Alissa, MD, was elected to serve as a member of the DCMS board of directors. Alissa is an associate professor in the department of pediatrics.

Kitty Leung, MD, received the Philip H. Gilbert Young Physician Leadership Award. Leung is an assistant professor and medical director of outpatient services in the department of psychiatry. She also serves as the associate program director of the psychiatry residency program.

Firas Madbak, MD, received the John A. Beals Award. Madback is an associate professor and program director of the surgical critical care fellowship in the department of surgery.

Gregory K. Lewis, MD, also received the John A. Beals Award. Lewis is an assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology.

The Duval County Medical Society, or DCMS, serves as a resource for the community of physicians providing care to this patient population.
