Jessica Warrick-Imrisek, MD, was born and raised in South Florida. She earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Florida International University and worked for several years while marrying and starting a family. After having children, she felt the urge to work with children in some capacity to help them have a better life, but was unsure of how to turn that urge into a career.?
After a life-threatening illness involving her 1-year-old, Dr. Warrick-Imrisek spent months being exposed to several pediatric subspecialties during her daughter’s journey to health, while also caring for her 4-year-old son and keeping his life as normal as possible. This is where she gained perspective as a parent to a medically vulnerable child, realizing the importance of health. She found comfort in the science behind the medicine and therapies that were lifesaving. During this time, she found the work and dedication of the physicians, providers, nurses, child life and others, to be the calling that she was looking for — to work with children.?
Dr. Warrick-Imrisek earned her medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency at University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, where she was a chief resident, training at both UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, as well as with Pediatrician Dr. Victoria Array at UF Health Family Medicine – Nocatee. Her interests include providing health care that helps alleviate fear and vulnerability often felt when a child isn’t feeling well, with a focus on preventive care, so that children can grow happy and healthy to their fullest potential. She loves watching and being a part of how children grow, from infancy to complex teenagers into young adults.?
Dr. Warrick-Imrisek lives in Saint John’s County and enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, her mom, dogs and friends. She also enjoys learning about modern day teenagers via her teenage son, all while still enjoying raising her preschool-age daughter and learning about all things Paw Patrol. Dr. Warrick-Imrisek is an avid DIYer and gardener.
