Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
1. Explain the definition and dynames of domestic violence/intimate partner violence.
2. Summarize basic concerns about strangulation including in the DV/IPV context.
3. Identify possible signs of abuse in patient assessments.
4. Develop a clinical response to documenting IPV injuries and outcomes consistent with Florida law.
5. Discuss expert "safety planning" with lethality assessments and referrals.
