Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the prevalence of Bipolar disorder (BPD) and Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder
(DMDD) in Children and Adolescents
2. Discuss the controversy regarding the increase in diagnosis of childhood BPD in the community
3. Understand the overlap of Bipolar and DMDD symptoms
4. Discuss the impact of BPD diagnosis on treatment decisions and life trajectory of these children
