Wednesday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m.

Hospital incident command continues to monitor Hurricane Ian, which is now in the Gulf of Mexico approaching the southwest coast of Florida.

Hospital operations are currently running as normal and will do so until further notice, however we will be sending out another email with important information later today with details on staffing, parking, local conditions and more.

As of the 8 a.m. update from the National Hurricane Center, current projections have the storm coming ashore later today along Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. The path of Ian is then expected to take it northeastward through Central and Northeast Florida before moving north into Georgia.

Forecasts still indicate the storm will bring heavy rain, flooding and tropical force winds to our area beginning tonight. Because the path, timing and landfall of the storm are still uncertain, we ask that you continue to follow updates.

Hospital Employees: Hospital incident command remains open and will continue to monitor the storm over the coming days and will update staff as needed. Please contact your managers for information on possible shift changes as Ian moves closer to our area. If you have questions or need further information you can call incident command at 244-3444.
