Governor appoints Hudak to state committee

Mark L. Hudak, M.D., professor in the department of pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, will serve on the state Medicaid Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee.

Hudak, who also serves as assistant dean for managed care, was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to serve a two-year term. Hudak is also associate chair of the pediatrics department and chief of the neonatology division at UF.

The 10-member committee develops and implements a voluntary Medicaid preferred prescribed drug designation program. The committee selects a list of cost-effective prescription products for Medicaid patients and provides that list to doctors.

Hudak’s term began in October and ends June 30, 2013.
