The Shands Jacksonville Bone and Joint Institute participated in The Human Race May 7 hosted by HandsOn Jacksonville. The event allows members of local nonprofits the opportunity to participate in the run/walk and raise funds for their organizations at the same time. Eighteen team members – including UF and Shands Jacksonville staff, friends and family – participated in the 5K and one-mile distances. Staff also participated by hosting a booth at the race to share information about the Bone and Joint Institute.
Altogether, more than $1,500 was collected and will be used to support updates to patient care areas.
