Ophthalmology department recognized by the DRCR Network

The department of ophthalmology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville was once again recognized by the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research (DRCR) Network as being the top site in the DRCR Network for 2010.

The award was presented to the top enrolling site for an observational study in individuals with diabetic retinopathy without center-involved DME undergoing cataract surgery.

The Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network Quality Award was presented at the DRCR.net Annual Coordinator and Investigator meeting held in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., on February 5, 2011.

The DRCR.net is a collaborative network dedicated to facilitating multicenter clinical research of diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema and associated conditions. The organization includes about 200 participating sites with over 670 physicians throughout the United States. The DRCR.net is funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI), which is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
