UF CARES receives 2010 Quality of Data Award

The University of Florida Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Education and Service (UF CARES) was presented the 2010 Quality of Data Award at the annual meeting of the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Group (IMPAACT).

UF CARES is one of 41 world-wide IMPAACT sites and is supported by funding through the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). The award, presented June 11th in Washington DC, goes to the research site with the lowest average number of errors per 100 research data collection forms for the last year.

Kathleen Thoma, M.A., director of research for the Center said, “This is truly a team effort and the culmination of a great deal of hard work by everyone who worked on the IMPAACT Research Studies over the last year.”

The IMPAACT Network is a cooperative group of institutions, investigators, and other collaborators organized for the purpose of evaluating potential therapies for HIV infection and its sequelae in the infant, pediatric, adolescent and pregnant women populations.
