Sandy Barata, administrative director in the pediatrics department at the University of Florida College Of Medicine-Jacksonville has been selected by the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women as one of the 2009 Women’s History Month poster honorees.
Each year the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women honors women who have made outstanding contributions of lasting value to the Jacksonville community. Barata is among the 2009 selected honorees and will be featured on the Women’s History Month poster.
Past and present honorees of the Women’s History Month will be celebrated with a reception, and exhibit of the collection of commemorative posters, on March 19, 2009 at the Thomas G. Carpenter Library at the University of North Florida.
