The department of pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville was chosen as one of Northeast Florida’s most community minded companies by the Jacksonville Magazine’s Companies That Care for 2009. This is the second time that the department of pediatrics has received this honor, having done so previously in 2005.
The department of pediatrics was featured in the Jacksonville Magazine’s January 2009 issue, in addition to being honored at an awards luncheon held January 29, 2009 at the Omni Jacksonville hotel.
The department of pediatrics stood alongside some of Northeast Florida’s largest companies as honored community givers. The department’s community involvement through the Patrons of the Heart program, organization of an annual carnival for pediatric patients recovering from heart problems, participation in health fairs and screenings, and hosting a variety of family events for children with disabilities, were among the activities highlighted.
For seven years, the Jacksonville Magazine has recognized the top Northeast Florida companies that put caring for their employees and community at the top of their priority list.
