Eric Frykberg, MD, a University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville professor and division chief of general surgery, presented a course on disaster management and emergency preparedness during the Annual Region VII Trauma Symposium for the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, Dec. 11 in Kansas City, Mo.
The course, titled Combined Vascular and Skeletal Extremity Injury, Diagnosis of Extremity Vascular Injury and Compartment Syndrome, serves as an educational tool to help surgeons better prepare for trauma injuries during a disaster.
