Yvette McCarter, PhD, a University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville professor of pathology and laboratory medicine, has been appointed by the American Society for Microbiology as the microbiology representative to The Joint Commission’s Laboratory Professional and Technical Advisory Committee. This committee is involved in advising The Joint Commission on laboratory-related issues. McCarter will serve a four-year term.
