Steven Cuffe, M.D., chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, has been appointed to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Review Committee for Psychiatry.
The ACGME is a private, non-profit council that evaluates and accredits medical residency programs in the US. Accreditation authority is delegated to 28 residency review committees-one for each area of medical specialization. Committees are comprised of from six to 15 volunteer physicians. The psychiatry review committee oversees accreditation of the 181 psychiatry residency programs and 300 psychiatry fellowship programs in the US.
Cuffe began serving as the chair of the UF Department of Psychiatry at Shands Jacksonville April 1, 2008.
