The American Academy of Pediatrics has named Thomas Chiu, M.D., M.B.A., a UF professor of pediatrics at the College of Medicine Jacksonville, to its Committee on Child Health Financing. Chiu, who is also the associate chair of the pediatrics department, will serve a two-year term.
The committee monitors and makes policy recommendations to the AAP board of directors on various aspects and public and private sources of health care financing for children. It also develops resources and information services on managed care for pediatricians and collaborates with other AAP committees to inform members of federal and state financing activities.
