Nahman writes women’s rugby book

When N. Stanley Nahman, M.D., discusses injury prevention and fitness strategies, it’s not always in a clinical setting. Sometimes it’s in the field…literally.

His most recent publication, Women’s Rugby: Coaching & Playing the College Game, focuses on these topics as well as on game fundamentals, team communication, and the importance of conditioning and flexibility training in the sport, which Nahman calls the “tiniest orphan of all orphan club sports.”

Nahman, chief and professor in the UF Division of Nephrology & Hypertension in the internal medicine department at the College of Medicine-Jacksonville, says the book grew out of his experiences as coach of women’s rugby from 1999 to 2003 at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
