Jacksonville, Fla. – Tonight is Shands Jacksonville’s last night to be featured on The Learning Channel’s documentary television series, Maternity Ward. A crew for the popular labor and delivery program shot the episodes earlier this year. Each one-hour show features University of Florida physicians and medical staff at Shands Jacksonville caring for patients from the simplest cases to the most high-risk.
Tonight’s show, “Roller Coaster”, features Felicia Olivier, MD, Jerthitia Taylor, MD, and Semaj Badger-McLendon, RN. The first program of four filmed at Shands Jacksonville aired Monday, October 13. All episodes air on Monday nights at 10 p.m. on TLC.
A production of New York Times television, Maternity Ward is in its fifth season and is designed to give viewers a better understanding of the world of labor and delivery. Viewers meet the real people who put their minds and energy into saving lives of mothers and infants in situations where every second counts, as well as witness the struggles and joys associated with less traumatic births.
